Meeting the Monster

That night, at the arena, Kane first met with Tori. He still wasn't so sure about her. What to think about her. At least she was nice to him. His co-workers jumped to conclusions awfully fast and sometimes they said cruel things but he tried to ignore them as best he could. Kane liked her well enough, but wasn't sure where else it was all going.

Tori talked to him about mainly light topics this time. She sensed he was a little nervous. Had to be because of Taker being around again. He had been coming around and taking Kane off to talk in private about something that bothered Kane alot. She certainly wasn't going to ask any questions. She didn't feel she had any right to. She saw Taker headed their way and patted Kane on the arm. "I'll leave now." she said quietly and walked away.

Kane watched her leave and had the urge to tell her to be careful and not to go anywhere by herself, especially outside. He wasn't sure why he had this idea, it just occured to him. He got the picture of the Eyeless Lady from his dream. He shuddered. While he was thinking about it, Undertaker walked up to him and stood glaring in the direction Tori walked off in. Kane knew his brother had no use for her. Taker considered Tori a total waste of time. Taker turned to Kane, most likely forgetting Tori instantly. "Can we have a talk tonight?" he asked.

Kane sighed inwardly. That was the way it always started. "Why is he so concerned about this?" Kane thought to hismelf. He just wished his brother wouldn't be so serious. He wouldn't mind burying the hatchet and becoming close to Taker at all, but there was that undercurrent that had Kane hesitating. Whatever else Taker was driving at had yet to be revealed. He allowed Taker to lead him off for another one of their little talks.

Meanwhile, Matiya was sneaking out of the hotel. She wandered into the lobby, unnoticed. Slipped out the door. She knew her twin took the car for the short distance to the arena, it wouldn't bother her to walk. She'd be casting her formidable presence around soon enough. This time she had some patience. She drifted down the streets like a phantom, sticking to the shadows mostly. She finally came upon the arena. It was totally dark outside, cold and misty. Matiya was glad she wore the black leather biker jacket she got from one of her robberies when she first got out of prison. She rather liked the bleary night, it made her feel even more like a predator for some reason.

She settled down outside the arena, since the show was already on, most of the people were inside, however there were some stragglers. A group of girls caught her eye and she watched them. They were all dressed 'goth'. Crowd watching was one of her favorite things these days. She enjoyed watching all the sheep.

Eventually she grew tired of all the people milling around in front and drifted to back of the arena. This was shadowland back here. Perfect for her.

She sat down on a slope and watched the back door. She was pondering what she would say to her brother Kane when she finally talked to him. It made her slightly annoyed with Taker that he wasn't allowing her any contact with 'Bubby' yet. He was just moving too slow! She decided right then and there things needed to be sped up. She continued to watch the door. She smoked a few cigarettes, and contemplated getting up and trying to find something to eat. She didn't dare leave, what if she missed him? She was very hungry by now as well as cold. Her ass hurt from sitting on the ground all this time and a very dark mood was beginning to come over her. She saw people begin to trickle out by ones and twos. They got in their rental cars and drove off, unaware they were being watched by a dangerous woman who crouched gargoyle-like in the dark.

Finally, her patience was rewarded. Out came Kane, alone. She was about to stand up and go over to him, when the door opened again and a woman ran out behind him. Matiya froze and watched as the woman talked to Kane for a little while, and then reached up to hug him. Kane looked very unsure how to handle the woman's advances. This woman was obviously attracted to him.

Matiya's green eyes clouded over. "This won't do." she whispered. She wasted years of her life in that home, then more years in prison before breaking out, the whole while under this pall of guilt for accidentally killing her beloved little brother Kane, just to find out he survived and was scarred, but otherwise very much alive. She wanted to get to him, but there was no way she could get to him with some bitch hanging around. Matiya needed Kane's full attention now! Besides, she'd been out in the cold air for a long time. Her mood was quickly turning worse.

She decided this scrawny girl wasn't necessary.

The girl watched Kane leave and didn't go back inside right away. Matiya was in the mood for ripping and shredding anyway. She was needing less and less of a reason these days for slicing up someone. These days she just did it because it felt so f'ing good! Matiya slipped around the cars, staying in the shadows, watching the distractred girl very slowly walk towards the door.

Tori was lost in her own thoughts. She was very attracted to Kane all of a sudden. She couldn't stop thinking about him. The way he seemed so lost...but she had no idea how he felt. He was very shy and mostly kept to himself. He did not let her get too close to him as far as emotions went. She could thank X-Pac for that, the little jerk. The thing she thought was pretty strange was that he told her to be careful before he left. Be careful? Of what? There was still a lot about Kane she didn't understand.

She was so deep in thought she never saw the dark figure creeping towards her in the shadows. She didn't know anyone was there at all until the second her hand touched the handle of the door and opened it a few inches. The hair on the back of her neck stood up, causing her to hesitate and that's when the door was kicked out of her hands and slammed shut. Tori realized too late that whatever had shut the door was outside with her, and not someone inside playing around. Almost too fast for her to comprehend, a woman was standing in front of her, leaning against the door, blocking her way in. Tori stepped back in surprise and instant fear. The woman was well over six feet tall with very long, dark red hair. She wore a black leather jacket but Tori could still discern the fact that this woman was very powerful. Her eyes were a bright green and staring down at Tori with a blazing intensity that Tori at first mistook for anger, further scrutiny revealed the huge, well-muscled, almost barbaric looking woman standing in front of her was quite insane.
"That your boyfriend?" the woman asked Tori.
"No." she whispered.
"But you wish he was?" the tall woman said.

Tori nodded, trying to back slowly away from this large, crazy female. The woman stepped towards her though, not allowing any distance.
"If you want to be with Kane, I should introduce myself. My name is Matiya. Undertaker is my twin brother, and that makes Kane my little brother. Wanna be my sissy-in-law?" Matiya smiled sweetly and suddenly snatched Tori by the hair on both sides of her head. Tori's hands went up to Matiya's arms, trying to claw at her, but the arms that held her felt like they were made of thrumming steel cables. Matiya's grip was so tight, Tori could hear her own hair starting to tear away. Her feet left the ground and she tried to kick, but Matiya pulled her close until they were almost nose to nose.

"I don't think you're quite good enough for my little brother, bitch. You...are...going...to...ask...to...DIE!" Matiya rasped through gritted teeth. She threw Tori an amazing distance and she slammed into a dumpster, dazed.

Matiya felt that familiar excitement course through her body. It was the way she felt before she allowed herself loss of control. The way she felt that time she had ripped that Doris's tongue right out of her head in prison for making dirty comments about her twin brother. She didn't like anyone talking shit about her brothers. Touching them was pretty much a death sentence.

Before Tori could recover, Matiya dragged her off into the darkness beyond the dumpster. Tori became aware of the hopelessness of her situation. This monster was dragging her off to die in the dark. She tried to fight back but Matiya tangled a hand in Tori's hair, and pulled her head forward at the same time punching her right in the face. The pain was so intense, Tori couldn't even scream, she sucked in a screechy breath and fell to the ground. "I think your face is broke!" Matiya said with hideous glee.

"Do I see blood?" Matiya circled her terrified victim. She grabbed Tori's nose, which seemed to be broken and jerked it from side to side. "That hurt?" Tori shrieked and Matiya grinned at her. "Yeah, that hurts!" her voice sounded calm and friendly. Tori was trying to crawl away and Matiya stepped on her lower back, adding more and more pressure. "Not much of a chiropractor is me." she giggled and grabbed a handful of Tori's hair. "Nice dye-job, slut." Matiya pulled harder and harder, her arms began to tremble with the effort. She felt the girl kicking and heard her mewling in pain as an entire handful of hair tore right out of the scalp.

Matiya looked blankly at the hair in her hand. She kicked Tori over on her back and proceeded to try to shove the hair down her throat. "I've always hated blondes." she said absently. Her voice had a disconnected calm to it. She squatted down next to Tori. "Taste good to you? Ever wondered what it was like to chew your own eyeball? I can show you how that feels. I've done it before. I really hate it when slutty bitches like you try to come between me and my brothers. My family is too good for you."

Tori was choking on blood and hair and she reached up to Matiya, fingers splayed wide, and perhaps tried to appeal to her sense of mercy. That was a sense Matiya didn't have. It seemed to have gotten lost somewhere in a dank prison cell along with her conscience, if it had ever existed at all. "What? You want me to stop?" Tori nodded, spitting out bloody gobs of hair. Matiya smiled and gently took Tori's hand. She brought the hand to her mouth as if to kiss it, then promptly put Tori's index finger in her mouth and bit it off at the second knuckle. Tori's screech was high and reedy. She sounded like a little girl. Matiya spit her finger back at her and growled, "I don't EVER stop! Not until your DEAD!" Matiya stood up and proceeded to kick the limp body in front of her. She was working herself into a frenzy that was threatening to consume her, until she heard the door open again.

She dropped to the ground next to Tori who was either dead or unconscious by now. The two guys that were outside lit up a cigarette and stood around talking.

Matiya felt extreme consternation at the the realization she was going to have to get out of there. She crawled close to Tori and heard her breathing shallowly. She whispered in Tori's ear "I'll be back for you someday. Maybe I'll be in the back-seat of your car some time, or in your house at night. I'll be back for all the fingers I didn't get this time. Maybe I'll roast you on your own stove. Was nice to meet you. Nice to bite you. If you don't die tonight, remember what I told you about my brothers." Matiya kissed Tori on the forehead, adding to the surreal horror, got up and walked silently away, leaving her victim to lie half-dead in her own blood.

Things had not gone well with Kane for Undertaker either. He had tried to talk more about Matiya with Kane, but Kane became very upset as more and more memories of her were brought to light. Taker didn't understand his reaction. Matiya had never terrorized or harmed their younger sibling in any way, on the contrary, she loved him dearly. It got to the point where Kane sat down at a table and put his hands over his ears, trying to block out anything else his brother said. Taker sighed and touched him on the shoulder.
"Kane...come on. Why does she bother you so much? She's our sister, she loved you."

Kane tried to talk and couldn't get the words out right. He became frustrated and grabbed his pad of paper he kept with him for times like these. He scribbled for a few minutes and then threw the pad at Taker. It said: "She is bad. She was not right. She had Monsters in her eyes and she gave them to you sometimes. She's evil. Never want to see her again!"

Taker frowned. "Kane, she never hurt you..."
He didn't get to finish his sentence because Kane interrupted him with a slashing motion of his arm and then said in his broken voice, "I-Isss she a-alive?"
"Kane I want us to..."
"NO! Is she?"

Taker finally relented and just nodded his head. Kane got up abruptly and left the room, leaving his brother to look after him. This was going to be very hard. Taker now wasn't sure if he could get them all together or not. He decided to go out and socialize with the few people he did talk to before he left the arena.

Kane ignored him the rest of the time, and rushed out the door almost immediately after his match. Undertaker was about to take leave himself when he heard the commotion in the back. He took his time going to see what it was all about. He had a strange feeling that his sister wasn't honest when she told him she'd stay put. Not honest at all.

There were people standing all around the back door, he shouldered his way through and stepped outside. There were more people out by one of the dumpsters, looking down at the ground. He noted the wide, frightened eyes of those that were coming back from what was over there.

When he reached the dumpster, he stood staring for a minute or two before leaving the scene. He saw Matt Hardy kneeling next to who he finally recognized as Tori. He was holding her hand, and trying to make her comfortable. She had been beaten horribly and he noticed a finger missing from her other hand. Sister was most definitely dishonest about staying put. This was Matiya's ferocity level.

Looking at her missing finger made him think back to some odd dream he had before she came back around. Something about finger sandwiches. As he made his way, unnoticed, to his car, he felt more irritation with Matiya. He wasn't concerned about what had happened with Tori, his only concern was keeping his sister from being discovered. Why did she have to make things so damn hard? He waited until he had left the arena behind before speeding up. He wasn't sure if Matiya was going back to the hotel, or if she was going to cause more trouble. He should have seen this coming. He slammed his hand down on the padded steering wheel hard enough to leave a dent and drove back to the hotel.
